OUR INITIATIVES

NNHSR wants to develop community based health and nutrition care models and programmes with communities. The programmes will focus on seeking solutions to priority public health challenges, such as maternal and reproductive health and rights, child health, HIV and AIDS, safe water, basic sanitation and personal hygiene, and non-communicable diseases.  Poor Communities are at the heart of NNHSR’s approach.  We will reach, respect and become part of them, supporting them to create change from within by building on their own resources and strengths.

Our Long-term Plans

Strategic Planning

Strategic planning is the key thread running through any well managed organisation. For any business, not least an NGO, such as NNHSR, it has always been important to set objectives and priorities, turn policy decisions into programmes of action, decide how best to allocate the resources available, and review the results so that learning feeds back into the decision-making process. WE believe in planning for the long-term viability of our organisation.

Priority Setting

The legitimate expectations of government and aid agencies in the current climate require NGOs to prioritise meeting established national and local priorities, and to provide the best service at the best value to the funders making effective planning even more important.

Working in Partnership

The longer-term vision for improving the quality of life for people living with HIV/Aids can only be achieved with the active and continuous involvement and support of government, aid agencies, partners, community leaders and participants in the project.  NNHSR works with many of these stakeholders to deliver this vision.

Business Plan

We have put in place a Five-Year Business Plan to galvanise our initiatives in a logical sequence. The Business Plan sets out our Vision, Values and Goals. It addresses the environment in which we operate, focusing especially on changing trends and new national and local policy developments. The organisation’s strengths and weaknesses are evaluated alongside the opportunities and threats we face. The critical success factors to enable us to meet our long-term objectives are identified, and the financial forecasts for the five years covered by the plan are set out in that plan.
