Our Story So Far
The National Nutrition HIV Social Rehabilitation has been actively working to improve the well-being of pregnant, lactating and women with children under the age of six, people living with HIV/AIDS and other vulnerable groups of people since 20 NNHSR recognises that Nutrition is a crucial component of any development plan a country may aspire to.
Our aim is to work towards achieving optimum nutrition requirements for vulnerable people in the areas that we operate in by using locally grown crops, and locally reared small livestock.
We strongly believe that nutrition education combined with health and hygiene coaching is critical in ensuring that people maintain and attain a healthy lifestyle.
So far our work has concentrated in three locations within the Central and Southern Regions of Malawi. These are illustrated in the sections that follow.

Lilongwe
In Lilongwe our work has been based in the Kauma area which is a highly populated inner-city township with a variety of challenges including poverty, food insecurity and poor hygiene.

Blantyre
In Blantyre our work has been conducted with people of participants from Mpemba. Our work here has been unsual in that it involved a number of male participants who helped in implementing some of the required hygiene recommendations we made.

Zomba
The Zomba operation has been the next most extensive work after Lilongwe. It has involved a large group of mothers in a number of phases, some of whom graduated in 2024,
